'Possibly the first books ever launched in a Kilsyth fish shop. Chalmers happens to be the owner but hopes to net lots of children with his latest venture, two salty adventures set around Aberdeen and Oban respectively. Anthropomorphised animals are a commonplace in children’s literature but could this be the first talking fishing boat?'

'Fishmonger Thomas Chalmers has cast his net wider by writing children’s stories – based on a fishing boat. The illustrations are drawn by Billy Dobbie, a friend of Thomas and a professional illustrator from Newton Mearns. Each adventure ends with the fishmates singing a verse from their Bobalong seasong, the music for which was composed by local music teacher Margaret Shepherd. The books are mildly educational, and Thomas hopes they will appeal to children and parents alike.'
