Set during the Clearances, this is the story of how two boys, Duncan and his brother, Angus, deal with being thrown out of their home. In Edinburgh, they face danger and death when they chance across two of history's most notorious killers - Burke and Hare. Assaulted on all sides, and with no chance of ever returning home, revenge is the only thing they can hold on to. The question is: can they risk losing the little they have left?
The story 'jumps off the page and make sthe emotions of the evicted so real. Edinburgh comes to life, too, and the cast includes Sir Walter Scott, and Burke and Hare.'
