The Author
Well known Scottish writer Dilys Rose was winner of the first Macallan/Scotland on Sunday Short Story Competition, and her novel, Red Tides, was shortlisted for both the McVitie’s and Saltire awards. Many of her stories and poems have been performed on television, stage and radio. An experienced writing tutor, Dilys is Lothian’s writer-in-residence. She is a literary reviewer for The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday, editor of several collections of writing and a frequent writer for radio. Her previous publications include: "Beauty is a Dangerous Thing", "Madame Doubtfire’s Dilemma" (poetry); "Our Lady of the Pickpockets" and "Red Tides". "Friendly Voices" was awarded funding for the BFI/STV Prime Cuts series. When I Wear My Leopard Hat is her first children’s book.
